Shabby Chic

As you know, my passion lies in all things vintage and I especially love Shabby Chic. Of course the real master of this is Rachel Ashwell and her books are something to drool over.

Shabby Chic

Who would not want climb into this sumptuous bed and spend a lazy Sunday morning with a cup of tea? To me, this look signifies decadency and a place for a true Diva!

Shabby Chic does not have to be restricted to your bedroom, in fact quite the opposite,  it can be used in any part of your house. One of the reasons I love it so much, it that you can do it yourself and the bonus is it’s inexpensive. Trail Junk and Charity shops, Car boot sales, even visit shops tht are selling wood furniture this will be a  precursory to you making your magnificent finished item!

Shabby chic  is characterised by unobtrusive colour schemes coupled with rustic style comfort; white, off-white or very pale muted tones are best, making your décor appear effortless and completely uncontrived. True shabby chic style should be one of timeless elegance.

Here it is delightfully used for a wedding. These ideas are not expensive to implement. Sometimes all that is required is a little inspiration to set you in the right direction.
